New Delhi: In yet another case of drunken driving in the national capital, several policemen had a close shave when a speeding Audi car hit barricades near them at Pragati Maidan.
"The incident took place last night when the rashly driven car hit the police barricade and dragged it for around 50 metres before coming to a halt in the middle of the road," said a police official.
It happened outside Gate Number 1 of Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, he said.
The policemen, who escaped the accident, caught hold of the driver, who was found drunk, he said.
He was arrested for rash and negligent driving, the official said.
Luckily, no one was injured in the incident, he said.
There have been a series of incidents in the last couple of weeks in which drunken drivers have claimed lives of people in the national capital.
