New Delhi: One more man was arrested on Monday for allegedly battering to death a Delhi Police constable during a raid on suspect liquor mafia in South Delhi's Ghitorni area, police said.
Ravinder alias Rabban (32) has been nabbed for assaulting on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday 48-year-old constable Vinod Kumar, whose family was granted Rs one crore financial assistance by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
On Saturday, the police had arrested Pawan for the murder of Kumar.
In one of the highest such compensations, the Delhi Chief Minister on Monday granted Rs one crore financial assistance to Kumar's family after he was allegedly beaten to death by suspected liquor mafia in South Delhi.
In a letter to Sabita, wife of deceased Vinod Kumar, Kejriwal said the government will provide all possible help to the family besides the compensation.
Kumar was beaten to death by the assailants when he had accompanied a team of excise department officials during a raid in Ghitorni. He was on deputation with the Excise Department of the Delhi government.
