New Delhi:
A petrol pump employee was today allegedly robbed at gunpoint of over Rs 6 lakh in cash by four bike-borne assailants in the Jahangir Puri area in Delhi, police said.
According to police, the incident took place as Kunwar Pal, a resident of Burari village, was going this afternoon on his bike to deposit Rs 6.96 lakh from the petrol pump in the bank. He was employed at a petrol pump on Burari road.
"When he reached the Jahangir Puri area, four unidentified armed assailants arrived on two bikes, stopped him and pointed a gun at him. They then snatched the bag containing the cash before fleeing the spot," said a senior police officer.
Police suspect an insider's role in the robbery and are interrogating the staff at the petrol pump.
