New Delhi: A Delhi Police constable was allegedly stabbed to death by some unidentified persons in Adarsh Nagar of north-west district, police said on Sunday.
Harkesh Meena, 26, posted at Narela Police Station, left at around 10 pm last night for his home in Malviya Nagar. When he reached near Adarsh Metro station he was intercepted by men who stabbed him on his chest, a senior police official said.
Meena, a native of Rajasthan's Dausa district, joined the force in 2010. He was transferred to Narela police station three days back.
"Yesterday was the first day of his duty at Narela police station," the officer said, adding that his purse was found missing while a bag containing his identity card and police uniform was found from the spot.
Police suspect it to be a case of robbery.
