Delhi Police on Tuesday formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe an alleged serial rapist who confessed to sexually assaulting and killing at least 30 children.
The SIT will track similar cases in neighbouring Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
"After his shocking revelations, we have formed an SIT to probe the case further," Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikramjit Singh told IANS.
"The team along with local police will also investigate cases in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh," he said.
Ravinder Kumar, an alleged serial rapist, on Tuesday confessed to sexually assaulting and killing at least 30 children in the past.
Kumar, a native of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, told investigators he targeted young girls in Delhi, the National Capital Region and Uttar Pradesh.
He was arrested in connection with the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in outer Delhi's Begumpur area. The girl was reportedly missing from July 14 morning and an FIR was subsequently registered at Begumpur police station.
