New Delhi: Delhi Police today imparted self-defence training to young girls in several parts of the national capital under its 'Say No to Fear' programme.
Police said around 200 girls of Jahangirpuri, Lal Bagh and Adarsh Nagar were given self defence training under the aegis of 'Parivartan Cell' of north-west district and the participants belonged to different age groups from eight to 20 years.
It said participants were imparted to techniques, including punches, knife attack, board, tiles breaking and coconut breaking and also presented demo of the techniques.
Meanwhile, volunteers of 'World Vision' and the training participants also organised a 'Nukkad Natak' on the theme of "how the relative/known abuses the girl sexually".
It said the message was not to tolerate indecent/ inappropriate behavior from anyone, including relatives, and should inform their parents or police about the indecent behaviour.
