New Delhi: The Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch or ACB today told a Delhi court that it has filed three separate first information reports on a criminal complaint registered against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and others in an alleged Public Works Department scam.
Metropolitan Magistrate Abhilash Malhotra directed the ACB Assistant Commissioner to reassess the threat perception on complainant Rahul Sharma.
Mr Sharma told the court that two unknown men recently fired at him from a motorcycle. The court was informed that the three separate FIRs were registered by the ACB on its own on May 8.
The court said the FIR filed in connection with the attack on Mr Sharma shows he faces a serious threat. It told the ACB to file a status report on June 8.
The court was hearing a complaint filed by Mr Sharma, founder of the Roads Anti-Corruption Organisation, seeking a direction to the police to file an FIR against Mr Kejriwal, his brother-in-law Surender Bansal, a construction firm proprietor, and a government official for alleged irregularities in granting contracts for roads and sewer lines in Delhi. Bansal has died.
