Delhi today reported 19,166 cases, slightly lower than yesterday's number (22,751) in the last 24 hours. Every fourth person getting tested for Covid in the city is being found positive.
The positivity rate in the national capital stood at 25 per cent, the highest since May 5. The city also reported 17 deaths.
The number of cases might be down due to low testing on weekends.
There are currently 65,806 active Covid patients in the capital, the highest since May 15. 44,028 patients are in home-isolation and the recovery rate stands at 94.20 per cent. About 14,076 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
A total of 1999 patients are admitted in Delhi's dedicated Covid hospitals, out of which 87 are suspected to be infected and 1912 are confirmed patients. About 15% of the beds in Covid hospitals are filled currently.
Of these total 1912 patients, 1702 are from Delhi and 210 are from outside the city. Out of these, 503 patients have been admitted on oxygen support, out of which 65 patients are admitted on ventilator in critical condition, while 443 corona patients are in ICU.
On Sunday, Delhi reported 22,751 fresh Covid cases.
Delhi has recorded more Covid-19 deaths in the first 10 days of this month than the total deaths in the last five months. Most of those who died had comorbidities and were not vaccinated against the virus, government data said. 53 people have died of the viral disease so far in the national capital this month, with 46 deaths in just five days.
Dining at restaurants has been banned in new Covid curbs in Delhi. However, restaurants will be allowed home delivery and takeaways.
