Delhi road rage: Man beaten up with baseball bat, dragged for 50 metres

New Delhi: In yet another instance of road rage in the national capital, a young man was first beaten up with a baseball bat and then dragged by a car following a verbal fight.

The incident occurred on Friday night when Punit Tandon, 25, was returning home with his family after having dinner at the M-block market in the posh Greater Kailash-1 area in the city.

An Audi car came from behind and started honking. This annoyed the Tandons who were ahead in their Honda City car. A quarrel soon broke out between the two sides with the occupants of the Audi even abusing Punit's father, Sunil.

At this point, Punit stepped out of his car and a full-blown fight occurred. Things soon turned violent with the men inside the Audi allegedly bashing up Punit with a baseball bat. They subsequently got into the car and started moving while dragging Punit for almost 50 metres before finally speeding away.

The police have a registered a case and arrested two men, Ashish and Sarthak Sehgal, who allegedly beat up Punit. The duo, aged 21 and 19, is pursuing a course in BBA in Gurgaon. The cops tracked the accused down through the licence plate of the Audi they were travelling in which was captured by a CCTV in the area.
