New Delhi: With the arrest of six men, the Delhi Police claimed to have busted a gang of car thieves and burglars active in south Delhi and solved 18 cases.
Rohit (20), Dalip Yadav (19), Sabir Khan (19) and Vargeesh (19) were arrested from near R K Puram in Delhi, police said, adding that their interrogation disclosed the involvement of two others - Rahul Dahiya (21) and Chintu (21), who were arrested later.
With the arrest of the six youths, 18 cases of burglary and car thefts have been worked out, said police and claimed to have recovered three stolen cars four gold chains, five LCDs, branded shirts and trousers from them.
Rohit is the leader of the gang.
Police said during interrogation, the accused confessed that they had burgled an electronic showroom in Lodhi Colony in Delhi.
Also, on the intervening night of May 7-8 this year, the gang burgled another showroom in Sarojini Nagar Market by breaking its shutter.
After the burglary, the gang had escaped in two cars, evading a police patrolling staff, police said, adding that ever since a search was on for the gang.
