New Delhi: Yet another incident of crime against women took place in the Capital on Saturday night. Rejecting a man's proposals repeatedly turned fatal for a 25-year-old-girl from New Usmanpur area in northeast Delhi. The girl was allegedly stabbed by the accused and he also hurled acid on her.
Fortunately, the girl has escaped burn injuries. The accused, Pankaj Rana, was beaten up by the girl's neighbours and handed over to police. A senior police official said that the accused Rana had been stalking the girl for the past one month. He had proposed to her several times but each time the victim spurned his advances.
"The accused went to her house, carrying a bottle of acid and a knife. He entered the house and before the victim could understand anything, he stabbed her on her arms. He then hurled acid on her but she escaped injuries," he said.
The girl shouted for help, hearing which a mob gathered and beat up the accused.
