Delhiites today woke up to a warm morning with humidity in the air touching 56 per cent as the city braced for another sultry day.
The maximum temperature may cross the 41 degrees Celsius mark today, the weatherman has said.
The minimum temperature this morning was at 31 degrees, three notches above normal, and the MeT office predicted partly cloudy skies with the likelihood of thunderstorm in some areas in the course of the day. No rainfall was recorded till 8.30 am.
"Partly cloudy sky and thundery development may occur in some areas of the national capital," said an official of the Metrological department.
Humidity levels have steadily risen in the national capital over the last few days. According to weather officials, it is the occurrence of intermittent showers which has caused humidity levels to increase.
The humidity in the air in the city during the day yesterday was recorded between 40 and 79 per cent while the maximum had settled at 41.3 degrees, three notches above normal.
