Delhi: Three Metro stations shut ahead of religious gathering
New Delhi: The Delhi Metro on Tuesday shut three of its stations due to an expected religious gathering on a disputed piece of land.

The Delhi Metro closed the Race Course Metro station after 1.35 p.m., as advised by Delhi Police. The Jor Bagh and INA Metro stations, also on the Yellow Line connecting Huda City Centre to Jahangirpuri, which were closed at 10.17 a.m., continued to remain shut.

The Metro stations were also shut on March 31 for fear of vandalism after crowds gathered at the disputed site in the vicinity of Delhi's two historic monuments - the Lodhi Garden and the Safdarjang Tomb.

Delhi Police on Monday issued an advisory on a possibility of some Muslim protestors staging demonstrations at several places against the acquisition of Karbala land in the Jor Bagh area.
