New Delhi: A DU student was arrested when he was allegedly on his way to rob a businessman in east Delhi's Farsh Bazar area, police said on Tuesday.
Rahul, who is pursuing BA from DU, was nabbed during a special checking by police at 60 Foota Road under Farsh Bazar Police Station area, at 2.30 PM yesterday, DCP (East) Rishi Pal said.
His accomplice, Dushyant managed to escape. A country- made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from Rahul, Pal said.
During interrogation, Rahul revealed that they had planned to rob a pesticides businessman who was tipped to have received Rs 15 lakh in cash, the officer said.
