Delhi University teacher attacked by group of Holi revellers

New Delhi: A Delhi University teacher was attacked allegedly by a group of Holi revellers in north Delhi when she objected to their throwing water-filled balloons at her, police sources said.

The incident was reported from Hudson Lane on Thursday when the teacher and her colleagues were returning to her Vijay Nagar home.

The victim alleged that the PCR van reached the spot 30 minutes late, an allegation denied by the police. Six men were arrested and later released on bail.

According to the victim's complaint, she objected to the youths' throwing water-filled balloons at her from a multi-storeyed building.

When she objected, the youths came downstairs and entered into an argument following which she informed her colleagues and students. The revellers then attacked her and her friends, the victim claimed.
