New Delhi: Sudesh, wife of a librarian employed with an English daily, was on Tuesday arrested for murder and attempt to murder after she allegedly killed a builder's wife and her own son, said police.
Sudesh, 36, allegedly killed builder Manoj Taneja's wife Reena on October 17 in her Moti Nagar house in west Delhi after a heated argument.
She also allegedly killed her own son, Aarav, three, and attacked her daughter, Komal, 17, before injuring herself. Komal is out of danger.
Neighbours heard Komal screaming for help from the balcony and informed the police.
Exploring an extra-marital angle in the murders, police discovered that Reena confronted Sudesh for having an affair with her husband Manoj. Sudesh, who had called Reena to her house to discuss the matter, killed her during the heated argument
A case under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC was lodged against Sudesh a day after the incident.
Sudesh, 36, the wife of librarian Anil Sharma, was a nurse in Delhi government's Acharya Shree Bhikshu Government Hospital.
"Sudesh attacked her own son and daughter because she was worried who would take care of them after her as she would be jailed following Reena's death," said the officer.
