New Delhi:
A woman died after fall from the fourth floor of a building under mysterious circumstances in North East Delhi's Harsh Vihar area, police said today.
According to the police, the 25-year-old victim Monika, who lived with her husband Satendra, fell from their fourth floor apartment last evening.
She was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
However, the parents of the victim have alleged Monika's husband used to harass her for dowry and he has killed her. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered in the case, police said.
"A case under 304B (dowry death) and other relevant sections have been registered at Harsh Vihar police station. A magisterial inquiry has been initiated in the case. Investigations are on and we are probing the case from all possible angles," said a senior police official.
Monika was married to Satendra, a grocery shopowner, about 11 months ago.
