Delhi: woman injured in acid attack

New Delhi: A 26-year-old married woman was injured on her face and neck in an acid attack by two bikers in Delhi, police said on Sunday.

The woman was admitted to hospital with 31 per cent burns but her condition was stable.

She had gone to the market on Saturday evening when the bikers attacked her in west Delhi's Nangloi area.

The pillion-rider threw acid on her face and sped away. Passers-by took the woman to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital from where doctors referred her to Safdarjung Hospital.

Police said the woman, in a statement, alleged that her maternal uncle and his wife were behind for attack. The two were later questioned by officials.
