New Delhi:
A woman's body was found stuffed into an iron trunk outside Anand Vihar Metro station in New Delhi on Wednesday, police said.
The unidentified woman, 25, was found with several injury marks on her body.
A passerby informed the police about the locked blue iron trunk around 11 a.m. outside the gate of the Metro station in the premises of Anand Vihar Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).
According to the police, the woman was wearing a mangalsutra and red clothes. The body was decomposed and was badly stinking.
"The woman was hit on her head with a blunt object. She was killed somewhere else and her body was dumped in the trunk to mislead the police," said an officer.
Police also suspect that the trunk was brought on a roadways bus.
The body has been sent to a mortuary. Police stations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have been alerted for the identification of the victim.
