Delhiites got some respite from the bone-chilling cold on Thursday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 5.3 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.
There was shallow fog early morning but it did not affect the flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), skies are expected to remain clear during the day with maximum temperature expected to hover around 19 degrees Celsius.
"Skies will turn cloudy on Friday, leading to a rise in day temperature. There is a possibility of light showers during the weekend," an IMD official said.
Delhi recorded a maximum of 21.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, average for this time of the season, while minimum settled at 3.9 degrees Celsius, three notches below average.
