New Delhi: Delhi's new anti-corruption Jan Lokpal Bill has proposed action against private companies if found guilty of graft.

The Bill proposes imprisonment for top management of the company and five times recovery of losses incurred. It also prescribes blacklisting of firms in future government contracts if found involved in acts of corruption.

The Bill also prohibits public servant to take up "employment, assignment or consultancy" for two years after his retirement.

It further prescribes attaching the property of top bosses of the business entities. Government sources said the section will come handy in dealing with erring private entities in different sectors.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal surged to power this year with a record majority on the back of a long running anti-corruption by his Aam Aadmi Party.

The Lokpal Bill, which was tabled in the Delhi Assembly on Monday, was one of the foremost promises made by the party in its manifesto.
