New Delhi: Dense fog and poor visibility have led to massive chaos at the Delhi airport where almost all flights have been delayed. Large crowds were seen at the airport waiting for their flights on Friday morning.

At around 8:30, the temperature was 13 degrees Celsius and visibility below 50 metres, the airport's website reported.

Airlines warned passengers of more delays while disruptions were also reported in other airports in north India including Lucknow and Amritsar.

Yesterday, flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International airport were severely affected as well. More than 200 arrivals and departures of flights were affected on account of weather as well as "other reasons", Press Trust of India reported.

Airport officials said over 100 flights were hit as dense fog engulfed the national capital early morning.

Airport authorities implemented low visibility procedures, at around 3 am, which helped in carrying out flight operations in such conditions.
