New Delhi: A physically-challenged man was beaten to death allegedly by four persons, including two minors, in outer Delhi following an argument over a cricket ball falling into his house, police said yesterday.
The incident took place in K N Katju Marg on Tuesday evening and the deceased has been identified as Jaswant Singh (35), who lived with his family in the locality.
Some boys were playing cricket at a park near Singh's house and a ball fell into his house. His mother was standing with one of her grandsons outside the house and she asked the boys to be more careful while playing.
"She told them her grandson had a narrow escape. This made the boys angry who got into an argument with her. Singh also joined the argument and in a fit of rage, the boys hit him," a senior police official said.
Police was informed and Singh was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His body was handed over to his family after post-mortem.
A murder case has been registered and one person has been arrested.
