Doctors at Civic Hospital in Delhi Protest Non-Payment of Salaries
New Delhi:

A group of doctors at a city municipal hospital in east Delhi today protested over the non-payment of their salaries for the months of September and October, but later reached a resolution with the civic administration.

Leader of House in BJP-led East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) Ram Narayan Dubey and Chairman Standing Committee Lata Gupta today visited Swami Dayanand Hospital and met with the protesting doctors.

"The doctors were protesting demanding salary for the months of September and October. The two leaders discussed the financial situation of the corporation with senior officials and assured the doctors that efforts are being made to pay September's salary in next week and October's in the week following it," a senior EDMC official said.

The civic leaders, however, asked them to keep serving the patients who have no option but to come to our hospitals for treatment.

"Some doctors are also protesting in north corporation, but their arrears are only for one month. And, we are resolving that issue too," a senior NDMC official said.
