The former Navy man posed as a cop to stop the BMW SUV and then carjacked it

A former Navy man has been arrested for posing as a Delhi Police personnel and snatching a BMW SUV at knife-point. The accused, Bharat Singh, was arrested on Wednesday while he was trying to tow away the BMW X5 with a crane.
A knife, police uniform and the victim's mobile phone were also seized from the accused.
Car driver Khemchand complained to the police that he was returning after dropping the Agra-based car owner at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi around Tuesday midnight when the BMW he was driving towards Gurugram was hijacked by a man near Radisson Hotel in Mahipalpur.
He said the accused, wearing a police uniform, had signalled him to stop and asked a lift. Once inside, the complainant said, the accused snatched his phone by threatening him with a knife.
The accused then drove away with the car after forcing the driver out.
Following a tip-off, the accused was arrested and the car recovered from Khekri Daula toll plaza on National Highway 8 in Gurugram in Haryana, police said.
"Bharat Singh had tried to steal another car around a month back but was unsuccessful," Additional DCP (South) Chinmoy Biswal told news agency IANS.
