New Delhi: A 27-year-old Finnish national allegedly jumped to death from the sixth floor of Delhi airport's multi-level parking this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Arette Karlella and the incident at Indira Gandhi International Airport's car park took place at around 1:30 pm, police said. He died on way to hospital.
The reason for taking the extreme step was not known as he did not leave any suicide note. A personal diary was recovered from him.
"He was carrying a bag. From his passport, we identified him and informed the embassy," a senior police official said. When he came to the airport, the official said, he was not carrying a departure ticket.
His passport entry showed that he reached Delhi on December 24 last year and had a visa till June this year.
