A major fire broke out at room number 14 and 15 of the Finance Ministry's North Block office in New Delhi today.
The fire broke out at around 5:45 am. Six fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. The fire was doused by 7 am. However, all files and furniture in the two rooms were gutted by then.
"We got the information of the fire at around 5:45 am. We sent the fire tenders immediately. The cupboards, air conditioner and all records in the two rooms have been destroyed completely," said fire official Karamvir Singh Yadav.
The cause of the fire is not known yet.
