New Delhi:
Five people, including two domestic servants, were arrested on charges of robbery and Rs.6.54 lakh in cash and some jewellery recovered from them, police said on Tuesday.
The domestic help - Upender Kumar (22) and Hema (19) - robbed their employer on May 27 this year with the help of their three associates - Laxman Kumar Ram (21), Raju Patel (22) and Dharmendra Gupta (29).
They were arrested from a west Delhi park Monday evening and Rs.6.54 lakh and some jewellery, the robbed material, were recovered from them.
Upender and Hema revealed that for the past one year they had been working at the house of a businessman in west Delhi's Ashok Vihar.
"They were in love and want to settle down. To live a luxurious life like their employer, they thought up a plan and involved their other three associates. After robbing the house, they fled," said Devender Arya, additional deputy commissioner of police.
