New Delhi:
A five-year-old girl was raped and then dumped behind bushes by an unidentified assailant in south Delhi, police said on Thursday.
"The girl was last seen playing outside her home in Dwarka on Wednesday. We recovered her today (Thursday) morning in some bushes in Durga Park in Dwarka with a head injury," a police official said.
According to police, the medical examination has confirmed rape while the girl is recuperating at G.B. Pant Hospital.
"Her parents hail from Sultanpuri, Uttar Pradesh and her father is a rickshaw puller. They are staying in a rented house in Sagarpura, Dwarka," the official added.
