Delhiites woke up to a chilly Saturday with the accompanying dense fog leading to the delay of over 37 trains. However, only a handful of flights were delayed. The minimum temperature was recorded at 4.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average.
The Met Department, however, has forecast a clear day ahead. Visibility at 9:30 am was about 1000 metres, and showed indications of rising. It has also said the temperature can be expected to hit a minimum of about 6 degress Celsius.
An official of the Northern Railway said that at least 37 trains were running late while seven had been rescheduled and one had been cancelled.
All domestic and international flights on time except a few delays to Amritsar, Chandigarh due to foggy mornings there.
"There was a dense fog in the morning, but the day will be mainly clear," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 17 degrees Celsius.
Friday's maximum temperature was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, while the minimum temperature was 6.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
