The foreigner, whose body was discovered in a hotel in Paharganj on Thursday, was identified today as that of a French woman, police said.
The body, which has decomposed badly, was found late in the afternoon in Hindustan guest house in Paharganj area.
According to police, the room was booked by a handicraft trader, Manzoor Ahmed who has still not been traced. Hotel employees had told the police that several women visited him at this guest house including the victim.
"The woman has been identified as Lauren (34). She is a French national. She had reached on March 30," a senior police official said.
