New Delhi: Former journalist and media in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party Nagendar Sharma will be the press advisor to Arvind Kejriwal after he assumes charge as Delhi Chief Minister tomorrow.
Mr Sharma, considered close to Mr Kejriwal, is credited with devising an effective media strategy for AAP after the party drew a blank in Delhi in the Lok Sabha polls.
He had worked with PTI, BBC and Hindustan Times and was also media adviser to Mr Kejriwal during his 49-day stint as chief minister.
42-year-old Mr Sharma led a team of spokespersons during the high-voltage campaign for the Delhi Assembly polls.
A senior party leader said Mr Sharma always remained behind the scene while formulating AAP's responses to various critical issues as well as to allegations levelled by rival parties.
Winner of Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism award, Mr Sharma had worked with BBC World Service from 2001 to 2007.
