New Delhi:
Four people were arrested in east Delhi for kidnapping a share trader and demanding a ransom of Rs.10 lakh for his release, police said on Sunday.
Mahesh Sharma, 28, Dinesh Sisodia, 32, Dharmender, 25 and Mohammad Akram, 22, all friends, had lent Rs.10 lakh to Rajput, the trader, through a common friend, Ajay.
"Rajput had given the money to a Chandigarh-based investor who had stopped responding to his calls and won't give out the details of the investment," said a police officer.
So, Rajput decided to meet Ajay on Friday to settle the issue. However, the four friends got to know of this and abducted Rajput from the spot.
They called Rajput's business partners to demand ransom and were arrested on Saturday from Bhajanpura where they had come to collect the money. Rajput was rescued.
