New Delhi:
Women in New Delhi will be able to travel free on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses on Thursday on the occasion of Bhai Duj, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said on Monday.
The decision to allow free ride for women was taken so that they can meet their brothers without any hassle, she said.
Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami said women would be allowed a free ride in all DTC ordinary buses and non-air conditioned low-floor buses between 8 am and 5 pm.
DTC has been offering free rides to women on Rakshabandhan and Bhai Duj for the last few years.
