New Delhi : A semi-burnt body of a man, in his 40s, was found in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar area, police said on Sunday.
They said some passersby spotted the body on a vacant plot last morning in Mohan Garden area and called up the police. Police said a burnt blanket was also found on the body.
Locals have been questioned, but the police hasn't not been able to ascertain his identity.
A case under section 302 (murder) of the IPC has been registered against unknown person at Uttam Nagar police station.
In another incident, the body of a woman, in her mid 30s, was found on the railway tracks near Adarsh Nagar railway station in northwest Delhi last evening.
It seems she was walking parallel to the tracks and talking on phone when she was hit by a train.
It appears to be a case of train accident and investigation is on to try and ascertain her identity, police said.
