New Delhi: Heavy smog and shallow fog caused a hazy morning in the national capital, with the minimum temperature settling at 17.5 degrees Celsius, which was two notches above normal for this time of the season.

"The minimum temperature was recorded at 17.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal. The humidity was recorded at 92 per cent," a Meteorological official said.

The weatherman has predicted a clear day ahead.

"The sky will be mainly clear during the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 31 and 18 degrees Celsius," the official added. Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.5 degrees Celsius, while the city registered a minimum temperature of 18.6 degrees Celsius.
