New Delhi: Heavy rains today lashed the national capital, causing huge traffic jams due to water-logging as vehicles had to wade through flooded roads.
The day began on a sultry note but by evening, heavy downpours drenched most parts of the city.
The humidity level remained between 65 per cent and 83 per cent.
The day temperatures settled at 36 degrees Celsius, two points above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 28.8 degrees Celsius, which is also two notches above normal, Met officials said.
Traffic snarls were noticed at several places, including Kashmere Gate, Munirka, Dwarka, Dhaula Kuan, Sarai Kale Khan, Rajghat, Kalindi Kunj, Barapulla and Moolchand.
The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky with rain and thundershowers in some areas tomorrow, while the maximum and minimum temperatures would remain at 36 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
