It was a hot Saturday morning in the capital with the minimum temperature settling four notches above normal at 32.4 degrees Celsius. The weather office has forecast that the maximum temperature could shoot up to 44 degrees Celsius.
"The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 44 degrees Celsius. The sky will remain clear throughout the day," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 40 per cent.
Friday's maximum temperature was four notches above normal at 43 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled three notches above normal for the season at 31.5 degrees Celsius.
