Arvind Kejriwal's speech after oath ceremony at Delhi's Ram Lila Maidan
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday made "Crocin' trend for a while on social media.
"I have come here after taking Crocin," Mr Kejriwal said in his impassioned speech after being sworn in at Ram Lila Maidan, explaining how he and his ministers intended to work 24X7 to make good on their promises to voters.
The 46-year-old had been running high fever since last night. His aides said the intense campaign for the Delhi election and the weather had left him weak and nursing a sore throat.
The Crocin mention was an instant hit on twitter, where many joked that Mr Kejriwal's oath ceremony was sponsored.
"Crocin trending on vday?" said on tweet.
Columnist and adman Suhel Seth questioned, "Was Kejriwal a medical rep in his last birth? So now from Benadryl we've moved to Crocin."
Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi posted too: "Kejriwal telling media that he had fever, took crocin before swearing in. Given his past health prblems it's imp to change his doctor soon."
"Crocin" also cropped up when Mr Kejriwal's rival Kiran Bedi spoke to NDTV just after being named the BJP's chief ministerial candidate.
"I am not a Crocin. I am a specialist," Ms Bedi had said, while talking about her agenda for the capital.
