New Delhi:
Six months after air-hostess Geetika Sharma killed herself in her home in north-west Delhi, her mother Anuradha has committed suicide in the same room.
Like her 22-year-old daughter, she has blamed Haryana politician Gopal Kanda for her decision. Her suicide note also says she misses Geetika, and hopes her relatives will look after her son, Ankit.
"He killed my daughter and now he has taken the life of my wife as well," Geetika's father, Dinesh Sharma, who runs a printing business, said, according to the Press Trust of India.
Geetika hung herself in August last year in her family's two-bedroom apartment.
In her suicide note, she accused Mr Kanda, then a minister in the Haryana government, of harassment. She also indicted his employee, Aruna Chaddha, who was arrested like Mr Kanda a few days after Geetika's suicide.
Anuradha Sharma has named both people in her note.
The police have alleged that Mr Kanda was obsessed with Geetika.
In 2006, she joined his airline, MDLR, when she was just 17. After the airline closed, she moved to Dubai in 2010 to work with Emirates Airlines.
But Mr Kanda allegedly forged letters to ensure that she was made to return to India just five months later. He then blackmailed her to once again work for him, her family had alleged.
