A student of the Jawaharlal Nehru University was found dead at the room he had rented near the campus this morning.
The student, identified as Dushyant Dixit from Bareily in Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging from a fan in his room in Ber Sarai area of south Delhi.
A suicide note found in room mentioned "personal problems", "family issues" and his relationship with a woman, the police said.
Dushyant was pursuing PhD from JNU. He lived in the first floor of a building which had nine rooms, all rented to students.
"We received the call in the morning and rushed a team. A suicide note was found in the room. We have informed his family and initiated an inquest into the matter," DCP (South) Prem Nath said.
