New Delhi:
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Kanhaiya Kumar could not meet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today but spoke to him on telephone, CPI leader D Raja said.
Mr Raja, however, met Mr Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat with his daughter and JNU student activist Aparajitha.
"He (Kanhaiya) could not reach here due to traffic jam. He had a telephonic conversation with the chief minister, and both have decided to meet probably on Saturday," Mr Raja told reporters after meeting Mr Kejriwal.
Mr Raja added that Aparajitha had not come to meet Mr Kejriwal as his daughter but as a student leader in support of Mr Kanhaiya Kumar, who is on bail after being in jail on sedition charges.
Both Mr Kumar and Ms Aparajitha are members of the CPI-affiliated All India Students Federation (AISF).
Asked if the CPI had any larger political plans for Mr Kumar, Mr Raja replied: "Plans? We have no plans."
