The police have registered a case of vandalism against Sunny Dhedha and unknown persons.
New Delhi:
The Principal's office at Delhi University's Kirori Mal College in New Delhi was on Tuesday vandalised allegedly by members of the students union following which the vice-president of the Delhi University Students Union, Sunny Dhedha was booked.
Mr Dhedha, however, denied the allegations of vandalism saying he went there just for discussion with the principal.
Principal Dinesh Khattar said, "The DUSU members have been approaching us since last week for hiring our college ground for a cultural event being organised by them. On grounds of renovation, we had expressed our inability to do so."
Today DUSU VP Dhedha along with forty other students came to my office and vandalised the premises following which I had to call police. The incident is also recorded in CCTV cameras installed in my office, footage of which was taken by the police," he added.
Denying the allegations, Mr Dhedha said, "Me or my fellows did not indulge into any vandalism act. We just went for peaceful negotiations and came back when the principal refused."
But the police have registered a case of vandalism against Mr Dhedha and unknown persons.
"An FIR has been registered against one Sunny Dhedha and several unnamed persons under provisions of IPC and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. Investigation is underway," Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Madhur Verma said.
