New Delhi:
In yet another case of negligent driving in the capital, a Lamborghini, first rammed into a cycle and then crashed into a pole on Saturday night. While the cyclist is seriously injured, the driver of the car died on the spot.
The deceased was Anukul Rishi, a resident of Sainik Farms in south Delhi. He got married three months back. He was 26 years old.
Police suspect Rishi was speeding and lost control of the car at the time of the incident. He was killed on the spot when the car hit the railing of a bus stop on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor.
"Anukool Rishi in his Lamborghini car was trying to overtake a truck at Josip Broz Tito Marg in Panchsheel Enclave," said a police officer.
"It is too early to say whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol," said the official.
Cyclist Kishan, 45, received head injuries. "The cyclist is from the nearby Khanpur village area," the official said.
The incident occurred in South Delhi's Chirag Dilli area at the BRT stretch. The cyclist has been admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre.
Rishi's father is also a realtor.
