Delhiites woke up to pleasant morning today with an overcast sky and light drizzle. The minimum temperature settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average. The Met Office has forecast more rain later in the day.
"The sky will remain cloudy. Few spells of thundershowers are expected later in the day," said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The city recorded 2.2 mm rainfall between 8.30 am yesterday and 8.30 am today, the IMD official added.
The maximum temperature today is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius mark.
Yesterday's maximum temperature settled at 37.1 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the year, while the minimum temperature settled at 28.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above average.
According to the Met office, monsoon arrived in Delhi a fortnight ahead of schedule on June 16. The city has so far received a total rainfall of 115.3 mm.
