It will be partly cloudy today in New Delhi and the Meteorological Office has forecast light rain and thundershowers in some areas.
The morning was sunny and the minimum temperature settled a notch below the season's average at 27.2 degrees Celsius.
"The day's maximum temperature would be around 39 degrees Celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
Humidity at 8.30 a was 66 per cent.
Monday's maximum temperature was 38.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season, while the minimum temperature was recorded two notches below the season's average at 27.2 degrees Celsius.
