A total of 1,458 cases were disposed off and a settlement amount of over Rs. 3 crore awarded by various Delhi courts on the third monthly National Lok Adalat held on Saturday.
A Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA) spokesperson said a total of 46 Benches were constituted in which 1,458 cases were disposed off.
The cases pertained "to different jurisdictions with special focus on family and labour cases at pending stage in various district courts of Delhi in which settlement amount was approximately Rs. 3,61,86,800", the official added.
It was the third monthly National Lok Adalat organised in district court complexes - Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Saket, Rohini and Dwarka --under the supervision of Delhi High Court's Chief Justice G. Rohini.
Lok Adalats were also organised in all the three Debt Recovery Tribunals in which 12 cases were disposed off with a settlement amount of approximately Rs. 1,57,25,000, while in District Consumer Forums five Benches settled 24 cases and awarded Rs. 7,74,000 to claimants.
Lok Adalats were also organised in Company Law Board where 32 cases were settled and the settlement amount was Rs. 70 lakhs.
