New Delhi:
After an advertisement on Tuesday inviting applications for finding his successor, St Stephen's Principal Valson Thampu greeted the same saying the "time to celebrate is come".
"The ads are out. The time to celebrate is come: for you and for me. For all who believe in doing a cracker of a job and leaving the blazing tracks in dignity and ecstasy," he said in a Facebook post after an advertisement was issued by the college inviting applications for the post of his successor.
"I shall bless the day when I walk out of it on the 28th of February 2016," he said referring to the date when his tenure ends.
"I bless the in-between saga unmatched by any other in the history of higher education in this country," he added.
Mr Thampu has claimed in the past that the college has been subjected to harassment amidst controversies which led to calls for him to resign.
Allegations of shielding of a sexual harassment accused, banning of an e-zine over an issue of obtaining consent, using of a fake degree for his appointment are some controversies which rocked the college during Mr Thampu's eight-year tenure.
