Savita was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Wednesday in Delhi.
A 19-year-old woman, working as a maidservant, committed suicide at her employer's house, police said on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Savita and the incident was reported from Dwarka area of west Delhi.
"Savita was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Wednesday around 3 pm at the residence of her employer," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Surender Kumar told IANS.
According to police, the incident occurred when her employer's wife Kavita Dilip had gone to pick up her daughters from school. When she returned home, she found the main door locked from inside after which a call was made to police.
"A police team broke the door and found Savita hanging," the officer said, "Her employer KC Dilip, works as a manager in a private firm in Gurgaon. The body has been handed over to Savita's family."
Police also said that no suicide note was recovered.
