A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case of molestation of a reporter of an English daily at the ITO Metro station, police said today.
The accused, Akhilesh, a tea stall worker, who lives at a slum near the ITO, was drunk at the time of the incident, Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro), said.
He was arrested and will be produced in the court tomorrow, he said.
The reporter was inappropriately touched and groped by the accused when she entered the ITO Metro station from the gate on the DDU Marg at 9.30 pm on November 13, the police said.
A case was registered and investigation was taken up to identify the accused, they said, adding five police teams interrogated over 5,000 people in the past two days and traced him.
